3、apterIGeneralProvisionsArticle1ThisLawisenactedforthepurposeofensuringfoodhygiene,preventingfoodcontaminationandharmfulsubstancesfrominjuringhumanhealth,safeguardingthehealthofthepeopleandimprovingtheirphysicalfitness.Article2TheStateinstitutesasystemoffoodhygienesupervision.Article3Thea

4、dministrativedepartmentofpublichealthundertheStateCouncilshallbeinchargeofsupervisionandcontroloffoodhygienethroughoutthecountry.OtherrelevantdepartmentsundertheStateCouncilshall,withinthescopeoftheirrespectivefunctionsandduties,beresponsibleforcontroloffoodhygiene.Article4Whoeverengages

5、infoodproductionormarketingwithintheterritoryofthePeople'sRepublicofChinamustobservethisLaw.ThisLawappliestoallfoodsandfoodadditivesaswellascontainers,packagings,utensilsand13equipmentusedforfood,detergentsanddisinfectants;italsoappliestothepremises,facilitiesandenvironmentassociatedwith

6、foodproductionormarketing.Article5TheStateencouragesandprotectsthesocialsupervisionexercisedbypublicorganizationsandindividualsoverfoodhygiene.AnypersonshallhavetherighttoinformtheauthoritiesandlodgeacomplaintaboutanyviolationofthisLaw.ChapterIIFoodHygieneArticle6Foodshallbenontoxicandha

7、rmless,conformtopropernutritiverequirementsandhaveappropriatesensorypropertiessuchascolour,fragranceandtaste.Article7Principalandsupplementaryfoodsintendedspeciallyforinfantsandpreschoolchildrenshallconformtothenutritiveandhygienicstandardspromulgatedbytheadministrativede
