2、six-monthstreakwithatleast200,000newjobseachmonth.that’sthefirsttimethathashappenedsince1997.overthepastyear,we’veaddedmorejobsthananyyearsinceXX.andalltold,ourbusinesseshavecreated millionnewjobsoverthepast53months.that’sthelongeststreakofprivatesect
3、orjobcreationinourhistory. andaswesawonwednesday,theeconomygrewatastrongpaceinthespring.companiesareinvesting.consumersarespending.americanmanufacturing,energy,technology,autos--allarebooming.andthankstothedecisionsthatwe’vemade,andthegritandresilien
4、ceoftheamericanpeople,we’verecoveredfasterandcomefartherfromtherecessionthanalmostanyotheradvancedcountryonearth. sothegoodnewsistheeconomyclearlyisgettingstronger.thingsaregettingbetter.ourenginesarerevvingalittlebitlouder.andthedecisionsthatwemaker
5、ightnowcansustainandkeepthatgrowthandmomentumgoing. unfortunately,thereareaseriesofstepsthatwecouldbetakingtomaintainmomentum,andperhapsevenaccelerateit;therearestepsthatwecouldbetakingthatwouldresultinmorejobgrowth,higherwages,higherincomes,morereli
6、efformiddle-classfamilies.andsofar,atleast,incongress,wehavenotseenthemwillingorabletotakethosesteps. i’vebeenpushingforcommon-senseideaslikerebuildingourinfrastructureinwaysthataresustainedovermanyyearsandsupportmillionsofgoodjobsandhelpbusinesses’v
7、ebeenadvocatingonbehalfofraisingtheminimumwage,makingiteasierforworkingfolkstopayofftheirstudentloans;fairpay,paidleave.allthesepolicieshavetwothingsincommon:allofthemwouldhelpworkingfamiliesfeelmorestableandsecure,andallofthemsofarhavebeenblockedorig
8、noredbyrepublicansincongress.that’swhymyadministrationkeepstakingwhateveractionswecantakeonourowntohelpworkingfamilies. now,it’sgoodthatcongresswasabletopasslegislationtostrengthentheva.andiwanttothankthechairmenandrankingmemberswhowereinvolv
