4、niversity,inordertotakeadvantageoftheavailableBrightFuturesmoneyandin-statetuition.AsastudentinTallahassee,IhadnotspentagreatdealoftimeconsideringwhatwentoninsidethegiganticCapitolbuildingortheotherblandgovernmentbuildingsdowntown.Iwasapoet,trainedincre
5、ativewriting;however,asyoumaybeaware,employmentinthefieldishardtocomeby,particularlyinatownthesizeofTallahassee,andsoIacceptedapositionattheClerk'sOfficeoftheFloridaHouseaftergraduation.ItisdumbluckthatIfoundanavailableeditingjob,asthey,too,areinshortsu
6、pply.Iconsideredmyselfinmuchbettershapethanmostofmycreativewritingpeers,inthatIwasbeinghiredintoapositioninwhichIwouldbeencouraged—required,even!—touseoneortwooftheskillsIhadacquiredincollege.IwaswellawarethatEnglishmajorsoftenacceptedthefirstsalariedof
