5、ofComputers Themostimportanttechnologicaleventofourtimeistheriseofthecomputer. Computersalreadypermeatemanyaspectsofourlives,fromtransportationandtelecommunicationstoentertainment. Scarcelyignorantofthesetrends,manyschoolsnowhavecomputersandnetworkingcapacity. Tosome
6、extent,thesetechnologicalaccessorieshavebeenabsorbedintothelifeoftheschool,thoughoftentheysimplydelivertheoldlessonsinamoreconvenientandefficientformat. Inthefuture,however,educationwillbeorganizedlargelyaroundthecomputer. Computerswillpermitadegreeofindividualinstru
7、ctionthatinthepastwasavailableonlytotherich. Allstudentsmayreceiveacurriculumtailoredtotheirneeds,learningstyle,pace,andrecordofsuccesswithearliermaterialsandlessons. Computertechnologyputsalltheinformationintheworldatone'sfingers,quiteliterally. Thisisbothablessinga
