3、al-cated,redundantassignmentstoboostthequalityofthein-izetheonlinetaskassignmentproblem,inwhicharequesterformationtheycollect(Ipeirotis,Provost,andWang2010;hasafixedsetoftasksandabudgetthatspecifieshowmanyKarger,Oh,andShah2011).Randomassignmentcanbetimeshewouldlikeeac
4、htaskcompleted.Workersarriveonefinewhentasksdonotrequirespecificskills,butcanresultatatime(withthesameworkerpotentiallyarrivingmultipleinseverelysuboptimalperformanceforhumancomputationtimes),andmustbeassignedtoataskuponarrival.Thegoaltasksthatrequirespecializedtraini
5、ngorknowledge,suchistoallocateworkerstotasksinawaythatmaximizestheto-asanalyzingthenutritionalvalueoffood,asproposedbytalbenefitthattherequesterobtainsfromthecompletedwork.Noronhaetal.(2011),orhelpingpeopleplantheirtravel,asInspiredbyrecentresearchontheonlineadwordsp
6、roblem,proposedbyLawandZhang(2011).wepresentatwo-phaseexploration-exploitationassignmentalgorithmandprovethatitiscompetitivewithrespecttotheInthiswork,weaddressthechallengethatasinglere-optimalofflinealgorithmwhichhasaccesstotheunknownquesterfaceswhenassigningheterog
7、eneoustaskstowork-skilllevelsofeachworker.Weempiricallyevaluatethisal-erswithunknown,heterogeneousskills.Webeginbyfor-gorithmusingdatacollectedonMechanicalTurkandshowmalizingthischallenge,whichwecalltheonlinetaskas-thatitperformsbetterthanrandomassignmentorgreedyal-
