5、tionthatyieldedtheslipsremainunknown.AnarticleintheGuangmingDailynamedthedonorasZhaoWeiguo(赵伟国),statingthatthetextswereboughtat"a[4]foreignauction",butwithoutnamingeitheranauctionhouse,alocationorasum.LiXueqin,thedirectoroftheconservationandresearchproject,hasstatedtha
6、tthewishesofthealumnustoconcealhisidentitywillberespected.[5]Similaritieswithpreviousdiscoveries,suchasthemanuscriptsfromtheGuodiantomb,indicatethattheTBScamefromamid-to-lateWarringStatesPeriod(480–221BC)tombintheregionofChinaculturallydominatedatthattimebytheChustate.
7、Asingleradiocarbondate(305±30BC)andthestyleofornamentontheaccompanyingboxareinkeepingwiththisconclusion.Bythetimetheyhadreachedtheuniversity,theslipswerebadlyafflictedwithmold.Conservationworkontheslipswascarriedout,andaCenterforExcavatedTextsResearchandPreservationwas
