2、dAppletonLaboratory,FORTIS1.0,wereoptimisedandcharacterised.Eachteststructuredifferedintheiractiveareashape,sourcefollowersizeandcorepixeldesign.Threedifferentprocessingvariationswerealsotested.Thedifferencesbetweentheprocessingvariationsprovedminimalbuttheresu
3、ltsforeachteststructurevariedsignificantly,withthebestteststructureproducing-aquantumefficiencyof(31.0±0.2)%andconversiongainof(2.47±0.02)DN/e.Italsoboasted--thelowestaveragenoiseresultsforaRALCMOSsensorat(6.0±0.5)e,reachingaslowas5.7e.TheradiationhardnessofFOR
4、TIS1.0isalsoinvestigatedwithitsbestpixelstructurebeingexposedtovaryingamountsofionisingradiation(50kVX-rays).Itisshowntobetolerant(andabletofullyrecoverfrom)aradiationexposureofatleast2.2kGy.Anupdatedrevisionofthedesign,FORTIS1.1,wasalsocomparedtoitsearliercoun
5、terpart.Theeffectsofaspecialisedlow-noiseprocessusedinthemanufactureofthisrevisionareconfirmedtobepositiveafteradirectcomparisonwiththeuntreatedFORTIS1.0.Finally,thecreationofanalysissoftwareusedforthisprojectisdiscussedandfutureradiationhardnesstestsforFORTIS1
