4、thafictionalform.Inordertoaccomplishthis,however,wefirsthavetoclarifywherethetruth-lieswithinus,withinourselves.Thisisanimportantqualificationformakingupgoodlies.Today,however,Ihavenointentionoflying.IwilltrytobeashonestasIcan.ThereareonlyafewdaysintheyearwhenIdonotengageintellinglies,andtodayhappe

6、theblockadedcityofGaza,manyofthemunarmedcitizens--childrenandoldpeople.Anynumberoftimesafterreceivingnoticeoftheaward,IaskedmyselfwhethertravelingtoIsraelatatimelikethisandacceptingaliteraryprizewastheproperthingtodo,whetherthiswouldcreatetheimpressionthatIsupportedonesideintheconflict,thatIendorse
