4、relesstechnologycalledZigBeeisrewritingthewirelesssensorequation,however.AsecurenetworktechnologythatridesontopoftherecentlyratifiedIEEE802.15.4radiostandard(Figure1),ZigBeepromisestoputwirelesssensorsineverythingfromfactoryautomationsystemstohomesecuri

5、tysystemstoconsumerelectronics.Inconjunctionwith802.15.4,ZigBeeoffersbatterylifeofuptoseveralyearsforcommonsmallbatteries.ZigBeedevicesarealsoexpectedtobecheap,eventuallysellingforlessthan$3pernodebysomeestimates.Withpricesthatlow,theyshouldbeanaturalfi
