1、BIODEGRADABILITYANDCHANGEOFPHYSICALCHARACTERISTICSOFPARTICLESDURINGANAEROBICDIGESTIONOFDOMESTICSEWAGEAbstract:Atthehigh-rateanaerobictreatmentofdomesticsewage,bothbiologicalandphysicalprocessesplayanimportantrole.Therefore,theanaerobicbiodegradabilityofraw,pap
2、er-filteredandmembrane-filteredsewageandblackwaterhasbeeninvestigatedinbatchexperiments.Additionally,theeffectofanaerobicdigestiononphysicalcharacteristics,likeparticlesize,surfacetensionandzeta-potential,ofthepresentparticlesisstudied.Thebiodegradabilityofdom
3、esticsewageandblackwaterat308Cisalmostsimilar(71±74%).Moreover,ahighmethanogenesisofthecolloidalfractionindomesticsewage(86_3%)isachieved,showingthatthelowremovalofcolloidalparticlesincontinuoushigh-rateanaerobicreactorsisduetolowphysicalremovalratherthanbiode
4、gradability.Thelowestbiodegradabilityisdemonstratedforthedissolvedfraction(62%).Theresultsshowthatafteranaerobicdigestiontheaverageradiusofparticleswithdiameter54.4and50.45mmincreasedfordomesticsewage,whileitdecreasedforblackwater.Partofthesurface-activecompon
5、entsindomesticsewageisnotbiodegradedduringanaerobicbatchdigestion,asindicatedbythedevelopmentofthesurfacetension.Thenegativezeta-potentialofallparticleshardlychangesduringdigestion,showingthatcolloidalinteractionswerenotaffectedbyanaerobicdigestion.Keywords:an
