3、nmoun-tainousregions.Thecontributionofareatoplantdiversitypatternsiswidelyacknowl-edgedandmaymasktheeffectsofotherdeterminantfactors.Inthiscontext,itisimportanttoexaminealtitudinalpatternsofcorrectedtaxonrichnessbyeliminatingtheareaeffect.Hereweadoptt

5、eJadeDragonSnowMountain,whichisthenearestlarge-scalealtitudi-nalgradienttotheEquatorintheNorthernHemisphere.Results:Wefindthatseedplantspeciesrichness,genusrichness,familyrichness,andspeciesrichnessoftrees,shrubs,herbsandGroupsI–III(specieswithelevati
6、onalrangesize<150,between150and500,and>500m,respectively)displaydistincthump-shapedpatternsalongtheequal-elevationaltitudinalgradient.Thecorrectedtaxonrichnessbasedonmethod2(TRcor2)alsoshowshump-shapedpatternsforallplantgroups,whiletheonebasedon
7、method1(TRcor1)doesnot.Asfortheabioticfactorsinfluencingthepatterns,meanannualtemperature,meanannualprecipitation,andmid-domaineffectexplainalargerpartofthevariationinTRcor2thaninTRcor1.Conclusions:Inconclusion,forbiodiversitypatternsontheJadeDragonSn
8、owMoun-tain,method2preservesthesignificantinfluencesofabioticfactorstothegreatestdegreewhileeliminatingtheareaeffect.Ourresultsthusrevealthatalthoughtheclas-sicalmethod1hasearnedmoreattentionandapprovalinpreviousresearch,method2can————————————
