2、enecessaryforthefeaturesextraction.Extractedfeaturesarethenstoredinafileforfingerprintmatching.Matchingalgorithmpresentedhereisasimple,fastandaccurate.Experimentalresultsformatchingareaccurate,reliableandfastforimplementationusingapersonalcomputerandfingerprintreader.Theproposedfingerprin

4、nding;ridgebifurcation.1.INTRODUCTIONFingerprintrecognitionsystemsaretermedundertheumbrellaofbiometrics.Biometricrecognitionreferstothedistinctivephysiological(e.g.fingerprint,face,iris,retina)andbehavioral(e.g.signature,gait)characteristics,calledbiometricidentifiersorsimplybiometrics,fo

5、rautomaticallyrecognizingindividuals.In1893,itwasdiscoveredthatnotwoindividualshavesamefingerprints.Afterthisdiscoveryfingerprintswereusedincriminalidentificationandtillnowfingerprintsareextensivelyusedinvariousidentificationapplicationsinvariousfieldsoflife.Fingerprintsaregraphicalflow-l

6、ikeridgespresentonhumanfingers.Theyarefullyformedataboutseventhmonthoffetusdevelopmentandfingerprintconfigurationdonotchangethroughoutthelifeexceptduetoaccidentssuchasbruisesorcutonfingertips.Becauseofimmutabilityanduniqueness,theuseoffingerprintsforidentificationhasalwaysbeenofgreatinter
