3、/.PrefaceThistextbookisdesignedtoteachtheuniversitymathematicsstudentthebasicsofthesubjectoflinearalgebra.Therearenoprerequisitesotherthanordinaryalgebra,butitisprobablybestusedbyastudentwhohasthe“mathematicalmaturity”ofasophomoreorjunior.Thetexthastwogoals:toteachthefundamentalc
4、onceptsandtechniquesofmatrixalgebraandabstractvectorspaces,andtoteachthetechniquesassociatedwithunder-standingthedefinitionsandtheoremsformingacoherentareaofmathematics.Sothereisanemphasisonworkedexamplesofnontrivialsizeandonprovingtheoremscarefully.Thisbookiscopyrighted.Thismeans
