1、Studyonnonlinearanalysisofahighlyredundantcable-stayedbridge1.AbstractAcomparisononnonlinearanalysisofahighlyredundantcable-stayedbridgeisperformedinthestudy.Theinitialshapesincludinggeometryandprestressdistributionofthebridgearedeterminedbyusingatwo-loopiterationmethod
2、,i.e.,anequilibriumiterationloopandashapeiterationloop.Fortheinitialshapeanalysisalinearandanonlinearcomputationprocedurearesetup.Intheformerallnonlinearitiesofcable-stayedbridgesaredisregarded,andtheshapeiterationiscarriedoutwithoutconsideringequilibrium.Inthelatterall
3、nonlinearitiesofthebridgesaretakenintoconsiderationandboththeequilibriumandtheshapeiterationarecarriedout.Basedontheconvergentinitialshapesdeterminedbythedifferentprocedures,thenaturalfrequenciesandvibrationmodesarethenexaminedindetails.Numericalresultsshowthataconverge
4、ntinitialshapecanbefoundrapidlybythetwo-loopiterationmethod,areasonableinitialshapecanbedeterminedbyusingthelinearcomputationprocedure,andalotofcomputationeffortscanthusbesaved.Thereareonlysmalldifferencesingeometryandprestressdistributionbetweentheresultsdeterminedbyli
5、nearandnonlinearcomputationprocedures.However,fortheanalysisofnaturalfrequencyandvibrationmodes,significantdifferencesinthefundamentalfrequenciesandvibrationmodeswilloccur,andthenonlinearitiesofthecable-stayedbridgeresponseappearonlyinthemodesdeterminedonbasisoftheiniti
