4、lies,andsoon.Whatcausedthestructureofthefamilytochange?Intheearly1900sthebirthratebegantofallandthedivorceratebegantorise.Womenweresuddenlychoosingtogotocollegeandtakejobsoutsidethehome.Inthe1930sand1940s,manyfamiliesfacedseriousfinancial,ormoneyproblemsduringtheGreatDepression,whenma
5、nypeoplelosttheirjobs.DuringWorldWarII（1939-1945)，5millionwomenwereleftalonetotakecareoftheirhomesandtheirchildren.Becausemanymenwereatwar,thousandsofthese"warwidows"hadtogotoworkoutsidetheirhome.Duringthenexttenyears,thesituationchanged.Therewerefewerdivorces,andpeoplemarriedatayoung
