3、ebrokendownintorecords,eachofwhichconsistsofoneormorefields.Fieldsarethebasicunitsofdatastorage,andeachfieldtypicallycontainsinformationpertainingtooneaspectorattributeoftheentitydescribedbythedatabase.Usingkeywordsandvarioussortingcommands,userscanrapidlysearch,rearrange,group,andselectthefields
4、inmanyrecordstoretrieveorcreatereportsonparticularaggregateofdata.Complexdatarelationshipsandlinkagesmaybefoundinallbutthesimplestdatabases.Thesystemsoftwarepackagethathandlesthedifficulttasksassociatedwithcreating,accessing,andmaintainingdatabaserecordsiscalledadatabasemanagementsystem(DBMS).The
5、programsinaDBMSpackageestablishaninterfacebetweenthedatabaseitselfandtheusersofthedatabase.(Theseusersmaybeapplicationsprogrammers,managersandotherswithinformationneeds,andvariousOSprograms)ADBMScanorganize,process,andpresentselecteddataelementsformthedatabase.Thiscapabilityenablesdecisionmakerst
