1、MappingasetofnodesfromonecoordinatesystemtoanotherYoucanmapasetofnodesfromonecoordinatesystemtoanother.Youcanalsorotate,translate,orscalethenodesinasetbyusingamoredirectmethodinsteadofcoordinatesystemmapping.Thesecapabilitiesareusefulformanygeometricsituatio
2、ns:ameshcanbegeneratedquiteeasilyinalocalcoordinatesystem(forexample,onthesurfaceofacylinder)usingothermethodsandthencanbemappedintotheglobal(X,Y,Z)system.Inothercasessomepartsofyourmodelneedtobetranslatedorrotatedalongagivenaxisorscaledwithrespecttoonepoint
3、.Themappingcapabilitycannotbeusedinamodeldefinedintermsofanassemblyofpartinstances.Thefollowingdifferentmappingsareprovided:asimplescaling;asimpleshiftand/orrotation;skewedCartesian;cylindrical;spherical;toroidal;and,inAbaqus/Standardonly,blendedquadratic.Th

6、ystem,theaxisofrotationandtranslation,orthereferencepointusedforscaling.Themappingcapabilitycanbeusedseveraltimesinsuccessiononthesamenodes,ifrequired.ScalingthelocalcoordinatesbeforetheyaremappedForallmappingsexcepttheblendedquadraticmapping,youcanspecifyas
7、calingfactortobeappliedtothelocalcoordinatesbeforetheyaremapped.Thisfacilityisusefulfor“stretching”someofthecoordinatesthataregiven.Forexample,incaseswherethelocalsystemusessomeangularcoordinatesandsomedistancecoordinates(cylindrical,spherical,etc.),itmaybep
