3、usacidiseasilydecomposed.WedevelopedaNOxabsorptionequipmentwithacapillarypneumaticnebulizerequippedwithanexpandedgraphitedemister.Thekeyparametersofthepneumaticatomizingabsorptionsystemwereoptimized.TheselectedparametersrelatedtothehighabsorbentamountofNO
4、xareasfollows:diameterofthesprayliquidpipeof0.5 mmto1.1mm,inletgaspipeof0.5mmto1.1mmdiameterratioofthegas–liquidpipeof0.8to1.3,0.740 mofthesprayheight,MSP(minimumspraypressure)of3to4,andR(gas–liquidmassflowratio)of300.Withtheoptimalparameters,NOxremovalef
5、ficiencyandabsorbentamountarehighlyrelativetotheabsorbent,absorbenttemperature,andabsorbenttime.AhighfeedNOxgasconcentrationresultsinhighNOxremovalefficiencybecausethesurfaceareaperwater,nitricacidorpolyethyleneglycol(PEG)dropletvolumewashigherthanthatoft
6、hecommongas–liquidsurface.Fortheverificationtest,ahighNOxgasconcentration(200,000ppm)wastreatedwithaseriesofabsorptionexperimentsandaNOxremovalefficiencyof99.1%wasattained.Furthermore,usingPEGinsteadofwaterasanabsorbentresultedinalargerabsorbentamountatth
7、esameabsorbenttimeandcompleteNOxremovalinthegas.INTRODUCTIONExhaustgasesfromautomobilesandboilerscontainlownitrogenoxide(NOx)concentrations.Inmanufacturingnitricacidandmetalfinishingandindissolutionprocesses,thewastedgasescontainlargeamountsandhighconcent
