2、sedbasedonexistingstudies.Theworksmadeinthisstudyaresummarizedisasfollows:(1)Abi_levelprogrammingmodelforcontinuousnetworkdesignproblemisintroduced.Theobjectivefunctionattheupperlevelisdefinedasthesumofthetotaltraveltimeonthenetwork,andthetotalinvestmentcostsoflinkcapacityexpansions;thelower
3、levelproblemistheuserequilibriumassignmentmodel.Fourpopularintelligentheuristicoptimalmethods,includingthegeneticalgorithm,particleswalTnoptimization,antcolonyalgorithmandsimulatedannealingareusedtosolvethebi—levelprogrammingmodel.NumericalexperimentsshowthatthefourmethodsCansolvethecontinuo
4、usnetworkdesignproblem.However,theconvergencelevelandimplementationtimeofeachmethodhavecleardifferenceunderthedifferentsettingoftheparametersandthealgorithmstructure.(2)Thesensitivityanalysismethodisfirsttimeusedtoanalyzeandcomparetheinfluenceofthedifferentselectionofparameterstotheimplement
5、ationofeachintelligentoptimizationmethod.Suggestionsoftheselectionofparametersaregiven.NumericalexperimentsdemonstratetheefficiencyandprecisionofthesemethodsCanbeimprovedgreatlywiththeproposedsuggestions.(3)Chaostimeseriesmethodsareintroducedtoanalyzethecomplexityofthesolutionprocessofthegen
6、eticalgorithm.Experimentsdemonstrateitisafeasiblewaytousechaostimeseriesmethodstoanalyzethecomplexityofthesolutionprocessofgeneticalgorithm.ThelargestlyapunovexponentCanbeusedtomanifestthecomplexityofgeneticalgorithmeffectively.Comparingdifferentexamples,itisconcludedthatgeneticalgorithmbeco
