3、thoughonlytwocopiesweresoldthatyear.Thesisterswerenotfrustrated.Thentheystartedwritingnovels.Theyear1837seemedtobeabrightoneforallthesisters:Charlotte’sJaneEyre,Emily’sWutheringHeightsandAnne’sAgnesGreywereallpublished.In1848Emilydied.Sharingthemiserablelifeofthewholefamily,Emilydifferedfromherelde

4、rsisterCharlotteinhavingamorepassionateandrebelliouscharacter.SheisrememberedandextolledchieflyastheauthorofWutheringHeights.Butattheturnofthecentury,thefameofWutheringheightswasgraduallyrising;EmilyBrontewasregardedasthemostgiftedofthethreeBrontesisters.Inparticular,herreputationgreatlyroseafterth
