4、olvedintheprocess.ScopeThescopeofthisBREFfortheMineralOilandGasRefineryIndustryisbasedonSection2.1ofAnnexIoftheIPPCDirective96/61/EC,fromwhichitalsotakesitstitle.Thisdocumentaddressesthemineraloilrefiningindustryaswellasthenaturalgasplants.Otherrelatedactivitiessuchasexploration,production,transpo

5、rtationormarketingofproductsarenotincludedhere.Alltypesofmineraloilrefineriesregardlessofcapacityandalltypesofprocessactivitiestypicallyfoundtherearecoveredinthisdocument.SomeactivitiesthatareormaybefoundinrefineriesarenotcoveredherebecausetheyarecoveredinotherBREFs(e.g.lowolefinsandsolventproduct

6、ion,generationofpowerwithnaturalgas).OtheractivitieshavenotbeenfullycoveredinthisdocumentbecausetheyarepartiallycoveredinotherBREFs(e.g.cooling,storage,wastewaterandwastegas).Thus,whenimplementingIPPCpermitsforaspecificsite,otherBREFsshouldalsobeconsidered.SoilremediationisnotincludedinthisBREFbec
