3、ntennastoincreasethedatarateandachievediversityinfadingmultipathchannels.WebeginbyfocusingonanuncodedsystemanddefineoptimalandsuboptimalreceiverstructuresforthissysteminRayleighfadingwithandwithoutintersymbolinterfer-ence.Next,weconsidercodedMIMOsystems.Weviewthecodedsystemas
4、aseriallyconcatenatedconvolutionalcode(SCCC)inwhichthecodeandthemultipathchanneltakeontherolesofconstituentcodes.ThisenablesustoanalyzetheperformanceusingthesameperformanceanalysistoolsasdevelopedpreviouslyforSCCCs.Finally,wepresentaniterative(turbo)MAP-basedequalizationandd
