4、turated)martensiteintotheremainingaustenite.Potentialapplicationsinvolvehighstrengthwhereretainedaustenitemaybebeneficialforformability,fractureresistance,etc.Theprocessmaybeapplicabletoproductionofsteelsheetandplateproducts,aswellasheattreatedcomponentspro
5、ducedfromlongproductforgings,andevencast—iron.Theconcepthasbeenstudiedintheauthors’laboratoriessinceabout2003andaseriesofpubli-cationsisavailabledocumentingmuchoftheearlywork.Morerecentstudieshavefocusedonunder—standingmechanisticdetails,andotherindependent
