5、eirsacredgrovestheRomansbuilttheirowntempletoJupiter.IntheearlyyearsofChristianity,abasilicadedicatedtoSt.Etiennewasconstructedaround528byChildebert.AchurchintheRomanesquemannerreplacedthebasilica,andthisstooduntil1163whenworkbeganonthestructurewhichstandstoday.LouvreLouvre,nationalartmu
6、seumofFranceandthepalaceinwhichitishoused,islocatedinParis,ontheRightBankoftheSeineRiver.Thestructure,until1682aresidenceofthekingsofFrance,isoneofthelargestpalacesintheworld.Itoccupiesthesiteofa13th-centuryfortress.ThebuildingoftheLouvrewasbegunin1546inthereignofFrancisI,accordingtothep
