2、从句修饰的名词或代词叫先行词。定语从句一般放在先行词后面，由关系代词或关系副词引导。eg.Thewomanwholivesnextdoorisateacher1.Thewomanisateacher.2.Thewomanlivesnextdoor.1.Workersbuiltsheltersforsurvivors.2.Thesurvivors’homeshadbeendestroyed.关系代词who,which,that,whose,whom在定语从句中的用法。1.who指人,在从句作主语。eg.Themanhasbeencaught.Hedidtherobbery.Thema
3、nwhodidtherobberyhasbeencaught.3.that指事物，也可指人，在从句中作主语或宾语。作宾语时可省略。eg.1).Aplaneisamachine.Itcanfly.Aplaneisamachinethatcanfly.2).Hereistheboy.Hedamagedthevase.Hereistheboythatdamagedthevase.2.which指事物,在从句中作主语和宾语,常可省略eg.Thechairwasabrokenone.Isatinthechair.ThechairwhichIsatinwasabrokenone4.whose既

5、.指物时用that不用which的情况1).先行词是all,everything,anything,nothing,something,some,little,few,none,theone时eg.Weshoulddoallthatisusefultothepeople.2).先行词被all,every,no,some,any,little,much,few,none修饰时eg.Youcantakeanyseatthatisfree..3).先行词被theonly,thevery,thesame,thelast等修饰时eg.Thatistheonlythingthatwecando
