2、ies.Thesystemusesmonocularcameratoacquireomni-directionalimagesofthemineenvironmentwheretherobotlocates.Byadoptingcenter-surrounddifferencemethod,thesalientlocalimageregionsareextractedfromtheimagesasnaturallandmarks.TheselandmarksareorganizedbyusingHMMt

3、orepresentthescenewheretherobotis,andfuzzylogicstrategyisusedtomatchthesceneandlandmark.Bythisway,thelocalizationproblem,whichisthescenerecognitionprobleminthesystem,canbeconvertedintotheevaluationproblemofHMM.Thecontributionsoftheseskillsmakethesystemha

7、ftopologicallocalization.Currentlymostscenerecognitionmethodsarebasedonglobalimagefeaturesandhavetwodistinctstages:trainingofflineandmatchingonline.Duringthetrainingstage,robotcollectstheimagesoftheenvironmentwhereitworksandprocessestheimagestoextractglo
