4、fulbuildingsweredesignedbyanamericanarchitect.thousandsofamericansstudentsandprofessorshavecomeheretostudyandteach.wefeelaspecialkinshipwithyou.iam,however,gratefulthatthisdayisdifferentinoneimportantrespectfromanotherimportantoccasion79yearsago.injuneof1919,thefirstpresidentofyenchingunive
5、rsity,johnleightonstuart,wassettodelivertheveryfirstcommencementaddressontheseverygrounds.attheappointedhour,heappeared,butnostudentsappeared.theywerealloutleadingthemay4thmovementforchina'spoliticalandculturalrenewal.whenireadthis,ihopedthatwheniwalkedintotheauditoriumtoday,someonewouldbes
