5、sorprecipitates,whichareoftensegregatedintheaustenite-ferriteboundaryregions.Moreover,duetothepartitioningofthekeyalloyingelementsofferrite(CrandMo)andaustenite(NandNi),thelocalinteractionsbetweenthephasesmustalsobeconsidered.Theaimofthisdoctoralstudywastoincrease
6、theknowledgeaboutthelocaldissolutionbehaviorofDSSinacidic-chlorideenvironments.Therecentdevelopmentsofnewlocalprobingtechniqueshaveopenedanewfrontierincorrosionscience,providingvaluablelocalinformationnotaccessibleinthepast.Thelocaltechniquesusedincludeelectrochem
7、icalscanningtunnelingmicroscopy(EC-STM),scanningprobeforcemicroscopy(SKPFM),magneticforcemicroscopy(MFM),andscanningAugerelectronSpectroscopy(SAES),allwithmicrometerorsub-micrometerresolution.WithEC-STM,itwaspossibletomonitorlocaldissolutionprocessesonDSSinsitu,an
8、dinrealtime.MFMwascapableofimagingthephasedistributioninDSSwithouttheneedofthetraditionalsurfaceetching,whileSKPFMrevealedthattheVoltapotentialdifferenc
