4、4).Thejudgmentalcomponenthasalsobeenconceptualizedaslifesatisfaction(Andrews&Withey,1976).Althoughtheaffectivecomponentofsubjectivewell-beinghasreceivedconsiderableattentionfromresearchers,thejudgmentalcomponenthasbeenrelativelyneglected.TheSatisfactionWithLifeScale(SWLS;Diener,Emm
5、nos,Larsen,&Griffin,1985)wasdevelopedasameasureofthejudgmentalcomponentofsubjectivewell-being(SWB).TwostudiesdesignedtovalidatefurthertheSWLSarereported.Peerreports,amemorymeasure,andclinicalratingsareusedasexternalcriteriaforvalidation.Evidenceforthereliabilityandpredictivevalidit
6、yoftheSWLSispresented,anditsperformanceiscomparedtootherrelatedscales.TheSWLSisshowntobeavalidandreliablemeasureoflifesatisfaction,suitedforusewithawiderangeofagegroupsandapplications,whichmakespossiblethesavingsofinterviewtimeandresourcescomparedtomanymeasuresoflifesatisfaction.In
