2、ighlymathematical,asisthesubjectofIntroductiontoFourierOptics.However,therearemanydifferenttypesofproblemsthatonecouldimagine.Someinvolvestraightforwardsubstitutionintoequationsthathavebeenestablishedinthetext;suchproblemsareusefulinsofarastheyrelateanabstractmathematicalresultt

3、oarealsituation,withphysicalnumbersthatmightbeencounteredinpractice.Otherproblemsmayaskstudentstoapplymethodssimilartothoseusedinthetext,buttoapplythemtoaproblemthatisdifferentinsomesignificantaspectfromtheonetheyhavealreadyencountered.Byfarthebestproblemsarethosethatleavethestud
