4、spaperpresentsaresearcheffortaimedatcreatingavirtualassemblydesignenvironment.INTRODUCTIONThecompleteintegrationof3DdesignandmanufacturingtoolsisanimportantgoalofthedesignersandcreatorsofCAE(Computer-AidedEngineering)systems.Achievingthis3Dengineeringproce

5、sswillprovideameanstoenvision,refine,anddevelopaproductorprocesswithsignificantcostandtimesavings.Technologiesthatallow3Dassemblyevaluationsarenotyetfullyutilizedbyindustry,eventhoughvirtualmanufacturingtechnologiesareregardedasviableandvaluable.Obtaininga

6、trueconcurrentengineeringeffortrequiresacohesiveandcomprehensivesolutionthatsupportsbothproductandprocessviews.Virtualreality(VR)isanewtechnologywhichcanassistwiththisintegration.Virtualassemblycrossesmultipledomainsanditisimportantthattherelatedtechnologi
