1、2.1EXTERNALCONTROLSTherearetwoexternalcontrolsonthesurveymeter:anON/OFFbuttonandaMODEbutton.2.1.1ON/OFFBUTTONPresstheON/OFFbuttontoturntheuniton.Alltheelementsinthedisplayturnonandthemicroprocessorrunsthroughaninitializationprocedure.Partoftheprocedureincludesreadingthecalibrati

2、oncoefficientsstoredinEEPROM.IfanEEPROMreaderroroccurs,anerrorcode(E1)willbedisplayedatpower-onandunitycalibrationcoefficientswillbeused.Thebargraphanddigitaldisplaywillshowareadingthatdecreasesastheinstrumentstabilizes.Theinitialreadingusuallystartsinthe50R/h(50mSv/h)rangeandde

3、creasesthroughthelowerrangestoareadingoflessthan0.5mR/h(5µSv/h)within40seconds.Whentheelementsinthedisplayturnoff,withtheexceptionofthosenecessaryfornormaloperation,theusercanbeginthemeasurementprocess.2.1.2MODEBUTTONToconfiguretheMODEbuttontotheoppositefunctionwithouttheRS-232c

4、onnection,usethefollowingprocedure:1.Turntheunitoff.2.PresstheMODEbutton.3.TurntheunitonwhilecontinuingtopresstheMODEbutton.4.ReleasetheMODEbuttonwhenthedisplayisinthe“allelementson”condition.5.UsetheMODEbuttontotoggletheinstrumentbetweentheratemodeandthenewlyselectedfreezeorint

5、egratemode.2.1.3INTEGRATEMODETheIntegratemodeisoperational30secondsaftertheinstrumentisturnedonandallofthetimeafterthat.HowevertheintegratedexposurecanonlybedisplayedwhentheMODEbuttonhasbeenconfiguredasatoggletodisplayexposurerate/integratedexposure.IftheMODEbuttonispressedwithi

6、nthe30-secondinitializationperiodoftheunit,thedisplaywillread“0.”Whenintegrationstarts,“0.0µR(0.00µSv)”willbedisplayed.ToggleMODEtoreadexposurerateasrequired.Toresettheintegrationdisplay,togglethedisplayfromtheRatemodetotheIntegratemode.KeeptheMODEbuttonpressedforabout5seconds.T

7、hedisplaywillclear,andthenread“0.0µR(0.00µSv).”Exposuresareaccumulatedupto999R(9.99Sv).2.1.4FREEZEMODEWhenconfiguredtoselecttheFreezemode,theMODEbuttonactsasatoggleswitch.PressthebuttonuntilFREEZEappearsonthedisplay.OperationintheFreezemodegivestheuseraconstantreferenceofthehigh
