4、whichWasdesignedanddevelopedindependentlybyInstituteofComputerSoftwareofNanjingUniversity,isasupportingplatformforexecutingmobileagentapplicationsystems．Theearlyvisionoftheplatformmainlyconcernedaboutthemigration，communicationandsecurityofmobileagent，anditha

5、scharacteristicsinstructuredmigration，hierarchicalcommunication，andsafeguardsystemetcformobileagent．HoweveLMogentsystemhasshortcomingsinfault-tolerantability,especiallythereislittleresearchbeendoneonfailureofHomecomponentsinagentcommunicationand“onceexactly”

6、executioninagentmigration．Thispaperhasobtainedprogressesofthreeaspectsbelowbasedonanalyzingtherequirementsforafault-tolerantmobileagentsystemfirstly,inordertoimprovefault—tolerantabilityandpracticalapplicabilityofMogentsystem：1．Inhierarchicalcommunicationmec

7、hanism，proposedanapproachbasedonbackupHometopreventmobileagentfrombeingblockedwhenthemainHomecrashes．WealsouseAdapivePushalgorithmtomaintainthedataconsistencybetweenmainHomeandbackupHomewhenthemainHomeisright．Thisapproachcanimprovecommunicationreliability．2．
