3、D-GA),whochairedtheCSISBoardofTrusteesfrom1999to2015.CSISisledbyJohnJ.Hamre,whohasservedaspresidentandchiefexecutiveofficersince2000.Foundedin1962byDavidM.AbshireandAdmiralArleighBurke,CSISisoneoftheworld’spreeminentinternationalpolicyinstitutionsfocusedondefenseandsecurity;reg
4、ionalstudy;andtransnationalchallengesrangingfromenergyandtradetoglobaldevelopmentandeconomicintegration.Foreightconsecutiveyears,CSIShasbeennamedtheworld’snumberonethinktankfordefenseandnationalsecuritybytheUniversityofPennsylvania’s“GoToThinkTankIndex.”TheCenter’sover220full-t
5、imestaffandlargenetworkofaffiliatedscholarscon-ductresearchandanalysisanddeveloppolicyinitiativesthatlooktothefutureandanticipatechange.CSISisregularlycalleduponbyCongress,theexecutivebranch,themedia,andotherstoexplaintheday’seventsandofferbipartisanrecommendationstoimproveU.S.
