1、TrophicStructureoftheMajorSpeciesintheJiaozhouBayConsideredthroughStable-isotopeAnalysisAbstractJiaozhouBayisanimportantspawningandfeedinggroundformanycommerciallyimportantmarinespecies.However,itstrophicfunctionremainspoorlyunderstood.Inrecentyears,stableisotope(e.g.,carbonandnitro
2、gen)analysishasbecomeapowerfultoolforstudyingfoodwebsinrivers,floodplains,saltmarshes,lakesandmarineecosystems.Inthisstudy,stableisotopeanalyseswereemployedtoexplorethetrophicspectrumoffoodwebinJiaozhouBay,baseduponthedatacollectedfromtwosurveysinspringandautumnof2011.Thespeciesincl
3、udedplankton(includingphytoplankton,zooplanktonsoffoursizes),29invertebrates(includingdecapoda,brachyuran,cephalopod,bivalve,gastropodandpolychaete)and34fishes.Allthesespeciesaccountedfor95%ofthetotalbiomassofthecatches,andcoveredallthedominantinvertebratesandfishspeciesintheJiaozho
4、uBayecosystem.1315Carbonandnitrogenstableisotoperatios(δCandδN)ofthesespeciesweremeasuredbyisotoperatiomassspectrometer(IRMS,Isoprime;GV,Manchester,UK).13TheresultsshowedthatδCvaluesforthesespeciesinJiaozhouBayrangedfrom13-25.63‰to-17.16‰,withthehighestC-enrichedvaluesexhibitedbyPor
5、tunus15trituberculatusandthelowestoneby300~500μmzooplankton.TheδNvalues15rangedfrom4.15‰to14.11‰,withthehighestN-enrichedvaluesexhibitedbyOdontamblyopusrubicundusandthelowestbyphytoplankton.Theaveragevalueof1315δCandδNwas-19.42±1.80‰and11.98±1.77‰,respectively.Ahierarchical1315clust
6、eranalysiswasperformedonNormalisdEuclideandistancesofδCandδNvalues.Baseontheclusteranalysis,themajorspeciesoffoodwebinJiaozhouBaywereclassifiedintofourtrophicgroups:primaryproducers(phytoplankton),primaryconsumers(zooplankton),secondaryconsumers(PhilineKinglippiniandtwofishes-Ammody
7、tespersonatusandSyngnathusacus),toppredators(otherinvertebratesandfishes).1515BasedontheNenrichmentpertrophiclevel(△δN),trophiclevelsfortheseIII万方数据specieswereestimated.Almostallthesespeciesinthisstudybelongedtotrophiclevelsbetween1.0and4.0,withthelowesttrophiclevelofphytoplankton(1
