4、verofinsulatorstingsisoneoftheprincipalfactorscausingthisicedisaster,thusthepreventionoficingflashoverofinsulatorstringsissign讦icantforthesecureoperationoftransmissionlineslocatedinice-coveredregions.Throughtheanalysisonicingflashoverofinsulatorstrings,thepapercomparest
5、hecharacteristicofmeasurestopreventicingflashoverofinsulatorstringsoftransmissionlines,pointoutthatthemainreasonscausingicingflashoverofinsulatorstringsaretheaberrationofvoltagedistributionalonginsulatorstringandthecontinuoushighconductivewaterfilmthatappearswhilethebri
6、dgediceiciclesaremolten.Moreover,itisalsopointedoutthatinsomemeasurestopreventicingflashover,thePRTVcoating(permanentroomtemperaturevulcanizedanti-contaminationflashovercompositecoating)cannoteffectivelypreventicecoatingoninsulatorsurface,meanwhile,PRTVcoatingmayreducet
7、heicingflashovervoltageofinsulators,thusitisnotrecommendedtousePRTVcoatingtopreventicingflashover.TheV-typeinsulatorstringandtheinsulatorstringcomposedbyinsulatorswithlargerandsmallersheddiametersalternativelycaneffectivelyincreasetheicingflashovervoltageofinsulatorstri
