3、hasbeenextensivelyclass-testedinmanyuniversitiesaroundtheworld.Unlikethatbook,whichisintendedprimarilyasacomprehensivereferenceofrobustandH1controltheory,thisbookisintendedtobeatextforagraduatecourseinmultivariablecontrol.Itisalsointendedtobeareferenceforpracticingcontrolengineersw
4、hoareinterestedinapplyingthestate-of-the-artrobustcontroltechniquesintheirapplications.Withthisobjectiveinmind,Ihavestreamlinedthepresentation,R1addedmorethan50illustrativeexamples,includedmanyrelatedMatlabcommandsandmorethan150exerciseproblems,andaddedsomerecentdevelopmentsinthear
5、eaofrobustcontrolsuchasgapmetric,-gapmetric,modelvalidation,andmixedproblem.Inaddition,manyproofsarecompletelyrewrittenandsomeadvancedtopicsareeitherdeletedcompletelyordonotgetanin-depthtreatment.Theprerequisiteforreadingthisbookissomebasicknowledgeofclassicalcontroltheoryandstat
6、e-spacetheory.Thetextcontainsmorematerialthancouldbecoveredindetailinaone-semesteroraone-quartercourse.Chapter1givesachapter-by-chaptersummaryofthemainresultspresentedinthebook,whichcouldbeusedasaguidefortheselectionoftopicsforaspeci ccourse.Chapters2and3canbeusedasarefresherforsom
