2、fromfinancialinstitutionsacrosstheregion.·Seventy-sixpercentofrespondentssaidregulatoryreformswouldaffecttheirbusiness.Overhalfsaidtheyexpecttheirbanks’businessmodelswouldneedtochangetoaddressregulatoryreformsand48percentexpecttheirbankswouldneedtoraiseaddit
3、ionalcapital.·Areasofconcernincludehighcompliancecosts,reductioninthebanks’competitivenessandhighercostofcapital,whichmaybecomemoredifficulttoaccess.·Meanwhile,72.5percentsaidtheyareoftheviewthatnewregulationssuchasBaselIIIshouldbeappliedtofinancialinstituti
4、onsintheAsia-Pacificregion.However,onlyone-thirdofrespondentsthoughtthereformswouldcreatea“levelplayingfield”ofglobalbanksrelativetoAsianbanks,sincethelatterarerelativelymorecapitalised.·Thetopthreeimportantareasofregulationthatareofprioritytorespondentsarec
5、apitalmanagement,includingtheInternalCapitalAdequacyAssessmentProcess(ICAAP),liquidityriskmanagementandenterprisewidestresstesting,acrossriskcategories.·Mostrespondentsthoughttheirbankswouldrequireadditionalriskmanagementinfrastructure.Over96percentsaidtheyc
6、onsideredthatanintegratedapproachtorisk,performance,complianceandcapitalwaseithercriticalorimportant/veryimportantto“FutureProof”themselves.Intermsofchallenges,88percentofrespondentshighlighteddatarelatedissueswhile75percentpointedtonothavingtherightITsystem
7、sinfrastructureinplace.·Bankswerealsoaskedtoconsiderwhatkeyoperatingareaswouldbeaffectedasaresultofreforms.78percentcitedlendingandriskpricing,59percentindicatedperformancemanagementsystems;57percentsaidtradingcounterpartytransactionswhile35percenthighlighte
