4、kofthequalityandperformanceofairfiltersusedinairconditioningsystems.Thisinturnwillresultinimprovedairqualityinindoorworkingenvironments.Thetestproceduresusedinthisstandardarebasedonestablishedtechniquesdevelopedoverdecades,butusingmoderndigitalinstrumentation
5、.Themultiplemechanismsinvolvedinairfiltrationarecomplexanddifficulttomodel,andconsequentlythetestingtechniquesthemselveshavealsobecomecomplex.Aresultofthisisthattheperformancegradingofairfilterscannotbecarriedoutreproduciblyintermsoftheireffectivenessintherem
6、ovalofatmosphericparticulateairpollution.Testsusingartificial(synthetic)particulatecontaminationareusedtogradethesefilters.TheBSEN779:2012testsystemgrades(ranks)airfiltersaccordingtotheirparticulateremovalcapability.Thisvariesandmayincreaseordecreasesignifica
7、ntlyduringthelifetimeofthefilter.Usersofthisstandardneedtobeawarethattheterm'averageefficiency',whichoccursintheclassificationtableandinotherplaces,isatestparameterthatrelatesonlytotestsusingartificialtestcontaminationinartificialtestconditions.Thevalueofthis
