3、tdoesnotprovidemuchhistoricalperspectiveonthedevelopmentofquantummechanics.Subjectssuchasthephotoelectriceffect,black-bodyradiation,thedualnatureofelectronsandphotons,andtheDavissonandGermerexperimentsarenotevendiscussed.Toprovideatextthatstudentscanusetogainintroductorylevelkno
4、wledgeofquantummechanicsasappliedtochemistryproblems,suchanon-historicalapproachhadtobefollowed.Thistextimmediatelyexposesthereadertothemachineryofquantummechanics.Sections1and2(i.e.,Chapters1-7),togetherwithAppendicesA,B,CandE,couldconstituteaone-semestercourseformostfirst-year
