3、tioninterfacesinducesomebiasesbothintheperceptionoftheself-motionorintheformationofvirtuallocomotiontrajectories.Thesebiaseshavebeenmostlyevaluatedinthecontextofstaticenvironments,andstudiesneedtoberevisitedinthenewcontextofpopulatedenvironmentswhereusersinteractwithvirtualcharacters.Wefocusonsit
4、uationsofcollisionavoidancebetweenarealparticipantandavirtualcharacter,andcomparedittopreviousstudiesonrealwalkers.Ourresultsshowthat,asinreality,theriskoffuturecollisionisaccuratelyanticipatedbyparticipants,howeverwithdelay.WealsoshowthatcollisionavoidancetrajectoriesformedinVRhavecommonproperti
5、eswithrealones,withsomequantitativedifferencesinavoidancedistances.Moregenerally,ourevaluationdemonstratesthatreliableresultscanbeobtainedforqualitativeanalysisofsmallscaleinteractionsinVR.WediscusstheseresultsintheperspectiveofaVRplatformforlargescaleinteractionapplications,suchasinacrowd,forwhi
