2、dsatellitedatahavebeenfoundtoincludethesignatureofaspecifictypeofauroralkilometricradiation(AKR),characterizedby3to10periodicemissionintensifications.TheseoccuratfrequenciesofseveralmHz,whicharewellmatchedwiththefrequencyrangeofPc5pulsations.From61eventsofpulsatingAKRobservedbyInterball-2,39samp
3、leswerefoundtopulsateatnearlythesamefrequencyasfieldlineresonances(FLRs)recordedsimultaneouslywithIMAGE,theground-basedmagnetometerarray.ThemainconclusiondrawnfromthisstudyisthatFLRsareabletodriveAKRpulsations.ThisisconfirmedbytheobservedcorrelationbetweentheAKRandFLRpulsationfrequencies,togethe
4、rwithanalysisoftheAKRsourcelocations.ThelongitudinalextentofFLRstructures,spanningseveralhours,isinferredfromthelargedistancesseparatingthepulsatingAKRsourcefootprintsfromthegroundmagnetometerobservations.ThediscussionshowsthatFLRsareplausiblesitesforpulsatingAKRsources,sincetheirnonlinearevolut
