2、(A))oftheactshallnotapplytothefollowingarticles:(1)Toyrattlesdescribedin§1500.18(a)(1)inwhichtherigidwires,sharpprotrusions,orloosesmallobjectsareinternalandprovidedthatsuchrattlesareconstructedsothattheywillnotbreakordeformtoexposeorreleasethecontentsei
3、therinnormaluseorwhensubjectedtoreasonablyforeseeabledamageorabuse.(2)Dollsandstuffedanimalsandothersimilartoysdescribedin§1500.18(a)(3)inwhichthecomponentsthathavethepotentialforcausinglaceration,puncturewoundinjury,orothersimilarinjuryareinternal,provi
4、dedsuchdolls,stuffedanimals,andothersimilartoysareconstructedsothattheywillnotbreakordeformtoexposesuchcomponentseitherinnormaluseorwhensubjectedtoreasonablyforeseeabledamageorabuse.(3)[Reserved](4)Anyarticleknownasa“baby-bouncer,”“walker-jumper,”or“baby
5、-walker”andanyothersimilararticle(referredtointhisparagraphas“article(s)”)describedin§1500.18(a)(6)provided:(i)Theframesaredesignedandconstructedinamannertopreventinjuryfromanyscissoring,shearing,orpinchingwhenthemembersoftheframeorothercomponentsrotatea
6、boutacommonaxisorfasteningpointorotherwisemoverelativetooneanother;and(ii)Anycoilspringswhichexpandwhenthearticleissubjectedtoaforcethatwillextendthespringtoitsmaximumdistancesothataspacebetweensuccessivecoilsisgreaterthanone-eighthinch(0.125inch)arecove
7、redorotherwisedesignedtopreventinjuries;and(iii)Allholeslargerthanone-eighthinch(0.125inch)indiameterandslots,cracks,orhingedcomponentsinanyportionofthearticlethroughwhichachildcouldinsert,inwholeorinpartafinger,toe,oranyotherpartoftheanatomyareguardedor
8、otherwisedesignedtopreventinjuries;and(iv)Thearticlesaredesignedandconstructedtopreventaccidentalcollapsewhileinuse;and(v)Thearticlesaredesignedandconstructedinamannerthateliminatesfromanyportionofthearticlethepossibilityo
