4、todesignandinstallandanysmall"bug"inthedesigncouldbeamajorproblemtocorrectsincethatalsorequiredrewiringofthesystem.Anewmeanstomodifycontrolcircuitrywasneeded.ThedevelopmentandtestinggroundforthisnewmeanswastheU.S.autoindustry.Thetimeperiodwasthelate1960

5、'sandearly1970'sandtheresultwastheprogrammablelogiccontroller,orPLC.Automotiveplantswereconfrontedwithachangeinmanufacturingtechniqueseverytimeamodelchangedand,insomecases,forchangesonthesamemodelifimprovementshadtobemadeduringthemodelyear.ThePLCprovide
