2、rtment,RuahaUniversityCollege(RuCo),Iringa,TanzaniaEmail:kibonal@nm-aist.ac.tzABSTRACT:Thetelecommunicationsectorhaswitnessedfastgrowthinthenumberofmobiletelephoneusersnowservedbysevencellularoperators.UntilFebruary2012,therewereabout26millionmobilephone
3、subscribersservedbymorethan4,000basestationsspreadalloverthecountry(Tanzania)andthisisduetoincreaseinpopulation.Despitethemanyadvantagesbroughtbyservices,thereisincreasedpublicconcernoverpossibleadversehealtheffectsduetoelectromagneticfields(EMF)radiated
4、bythemobilephonetowers.Thepaperassessestheimpactoftheelectromagneticradiationsfrommobilephonestowerstomalesperminfertility.TheelectricfieldfromthemobilephonetowerplacedatacertaindistancefromtestispositionwerenotedandthenanalysedbyconsideringSARrelationto
5、electricfieldfromthetowertothetestis.Itwasconcludedthatthereissignificantimpactonthemalesperminfertilityontheexposureofthemalereproductiveorgantotheradiationsfromthetowersatthespecifiedoperatingfrequenciesnearthetestis.Recommendationshasbeenprovided,that
6、mobilephonetowersshouldnotbebuiltnearbytheareawheremostpeoplearelivingasthedistancebetweenthetwoaresosmalltocausethemalesperminfertilitywhichisthelongtermeffectthat’swhymostpeopledon’tseethatthereareeffectsassociatedwiththoseradiations.Keywords:Mobilepho
