4、estheliteratureinordertodescribethisroleinaresearchcontext.Aim:Toreviewtheliteraturetoestablishthecontemporaryroleofthecoronarycarenurse.Methods:Anelectronicsearchofthreehealthcaredatabasestoidentifyalljournalarticlespublishedbetween1990and2006.There

5、viewwasfocussedonallprimaryresearchorauditarticlesthatdiscussedtherolesofnursesworkingincoronarycareunits.Results:Coronarycarenursesareresponsibleforpatientassessmentandsymptommanagementoftenusingtechnologytoachievethesegoals.Inadditiontheyareabletod

6、eveloptherapeuticrelationshipswiththeirpatientsandareinaprimepositiontoprovidevitalphysicalandpsychologicalcareinboththecriticalandpalliativestagesofillness.Conclusion:Whilstnostudyhasinvestigatedthecoronarycarenursingroleinitsentiretythethemesidenti
