2、izingthespacetocontrollingthespace.Consquently,themissionofspacevehiclesischangingfromminitoringtheearthtoorbitmanuveuringinthespace.Thelatterincludessuchtasksasencounterandinterconnectioninthespace,replacementofon-orbitmodules,on-orbitassembly,reconfigureandrefuel
3、ing.Toperformthesetasks,spacevehilesshouldbeabletosearch,trackandapproachtargetedobjects.Allthesedependontheinformationprovidedbynavigationalsystems.Therefore,itisincreasinglyimportanttostudynavigationsystemsthatfitintothespaceenvironment.Aspace-basedmicrowaveradar
4、systemhasauniquestrengthsinceitsoperationdoesnotrelyontheavailabilityoflight.Thespace-basedmicrowaveradarsystemaddressedinthisthesisisusedfornear-distancerendezvous,monitoringandapproaching.Itprovidesinformationonnear-distancerendezvous.Thisthesispresentsasystemati
5、capproachtowardbuidingaspace-basedmicrowaveradarsystemthatcanreadilyappliedunderreallifeconditions.Thisthesisfirstintroducestechnicalrequirementsofnear-distancerendezvousspacevehiclesonspace-basedmicrowaveradarsystems.Italsolooksintotheradarcrosssectionofspaceobjec
6、ts.Itthenproceedstoanalyzetheimpactofthespaceenvironmentonmicrowaveradarsystems,includingtheorbit,spaceradiation,misllaneouselectronicwavesfromtheearth,universesettings,noisesandtemperatures.Accordingtoabovementionedrequirementsandanalysis,itmakesacomparativestudyo
7、fsystemdesigns,pulsecompressionsystems,workingfrequencies,anglemeasurementandtracksystems.Thatinturnfinalizesthedesignofaspace-basedmicrowaveradarsystem.Finally,thethesisanalyzesthemaxiumdistanceaspace-basedmicrowaveradarsystemreaches,dynamicrangesofareceiverandthe
