4、alnetworkingparadigmliesinthearchitectureofthenetworkandtheroleofthedifferentnet-workcomponents.Intheconventionalparadigm,apersonwithacomputercon-nectstoapre-establishednetworkinfrastructure,whichconsistsofdedicatedde-vicetotransportanddeliverinformationamongcomputers.Inadh

5、ocnetworks,thepre-existinginfrastructureismissing.Instead,thenetworkiscreatedonde-mand,withthehelpofeachpersonandher/hiscomputer.Thus,thecomputersofindividualstaketheroleofthenetworkingdevices.Theindependencefromanypre-installednetworkinfrastructureallowsthesenetworkstobead

6、hocdeployableandtooperateatlowcosts.However,theadhoccommunicationparadigmalsoraisesmanyquestions,onifwhichishowtoensuretheparticipationofthein-dividualpersonsinthenetwork.Ifthenetworkparticipantsdonotcooperatebyprovidingthenetworkservicetoothers,butonlywanttousethenetworkse

7、lfishly,thenetworkceasestoexist.Becausemanyopenquestionscouldnotbesatisfactoryansweredyet,mo-bileadhocnetworksarenotwidelyusedoutsidetheresearchcommunity.Withmulti-hopcellularnetworks,thissituationmightchange.Multi-hopcellularnet-workscombinetheflexibilityofmobileadhocnetwork
