1、华中科技大学硕士学位论文文化缺项的翻译探析——《红楼梦》两种英译本酒令的翻译比较姓名：李婷申请学位级别：硕士专业：外国语言学及应用语言学指导教师：许明武20060401摘要翻译不仅是两种语言之间的转换，更重要的是两种文化之间的交流。由于不同文化之间的固有差异，在翻译过程中不可避免地会产生一些障碍，文化缺项就是其中之一。源自文化差异的文化缺项对文化信息的翻译和传递影响甚巨，因此有必要对这一问题进行深入探讨。中国古典小说《红楼梦》的文本以其卓越的艺术成就成为汉语研究的范本，其中的酒令蕴涵丰富的中国传统文化特点，因此在酒令的翻译过程中更容易产生文化缺项。《红楼梦》迄今的诸多英译本中

2、，有两个完整的译本：杨宪益夫妇的ADreamofRedMansions和霍克思与闵福德合作的TheStoryoftheStone。本文以两个译本（前八十回）中的酒令英译文本为研究对象，从词汇和典故两个角度对比分析了两个译本中文化缺项的翻译方法和技巧特点，在前人研究理论的基础上，尝试性地提出补足文化缺项的四种策略。文章最后指出，随着文化的不断自我补给，许多以前所谓的文化缺项已不成其为缺项，因此翻译工作者所采取的翻译策略应当随着文化交流情势的变化而变化。随着世界文化交流的进一步扩大，通过作为中外文化交流使者的翻译工作者的共同努力，一定能探寻出更为有效的处理和解决缺项问题的方法，尽
