2、icable,anystandbyletterofcredit)whenthetextofthecreditexpresslyindicatesthatitissubjecttotheserules.Theyarebindingonallpartiestheretounlessexpresslymodifiedorexcludedbythecredit.Article2DefinitionsForthepurposeoftheserules:Advisingbankmeansthebankthatadvisesthecreditattherequestoft

3、heissuingbank.Applicantmeansthepartyonwhoserequestthecreditisissued.Bankingdaymeansadayonwhichabankisregularlyopenattheplaceatwhichanactsubjecttotheserulesistobeperformed.Beneficiarymeansthepartyinwhosefavouracreditisissued.Complyingpresentationmeansapresentationthatisinaccordancew

4、iththetermsandconditionsofthecredit,theapplicableprovisionsoftheserulesandinternationalstandardbankingpractice.Confirmationmeansadefiniteundertakingoftheconfirmingbank,inadditiontothatoftheissuingbank,tohonourornegotiateacomplyingpresentation.Confirmingbankmeansthebankthataddsitsco

5、nfirmationtoacredituponthebbissuingbank’sauthorizationorrequest.Creditmeansanyarrangement,howevernamedordescribed,thatisirrevocableandtherebyconstitutesadefiniteundertakingoftheissuingbanktohonouracomplyingpresentation.Honourmeans:a.topayatsightifthecreditisavailablebysightpayment.

6、b.toincuradeferredpaymentundertakingandpayatmaturityifthecreditisavailablebydeferredpayment.c.toacceptabillofexchange(“draft”)drawnbythebeneficiaryandpayatmaturityifthecreditisavailablebyacceptance.Issuingbankmeansthebankthatissuesacreditattherequestofanapplicantoronitsownbehalf.Ne

7、gotiationmeansthepurchasebythenominatedbankofdrafts(drawnonabankotherthanthenominatedbank)and/ordocumentsunderacomplyingpresentation,byadvancingoragreeingtoadvancefundstothebeneficiaryonorbeforethebankingdayonwhichreimbursementisdueto(tobepaidthenominatedbank.Nominatedbankmeanstheb
